Have your say on town centre

Businesses in Shirebrook like many other towns up and down the country has suffered over the past year.

Reduction in footfall, numerous lockdowns and loss of trade due to online shopping have all had an impact, but we are supporting the Council’s efforts to bring back the good times.

Bolsover District Council has recently commissioned Heartflood, a company with expertise and knowledge in town centres to produce Covid-19 Recovery Plans for each of our four main towns within the District.

Businesses within each centre, as well as residents who are customers of each town, are therefore being urged to complete a brief questionnaire and more detail is available via the town centre information sheet:

Your local county councillor, Christine Dale said, “I would encourage as many people as possible to complete these questionnaires so we can get the best possible outcome for Shirebrook. Business have been severely affected and we have to do everything possible to get them back and thriving the way they were before the pandemic.

“Shirebrook is a proud town, it’s a town that is full of independent shops and businesses and that’s what makes us unique. But if we want to keep our independent shops and grow our market, now is the time for you to have your say so we can help Shirebrook flourish once again.”

Responses from the survey will be analysed and will help to shape the priority actions which will then be discussed with Bolsover District Council.
