First phase of housing scheme in Shirebrook completed

We are continuing to deliver on our election promises as the first phase of a new housing development in Shirebrook has been completed.

The first 16 bunglows on Market Close in the town have been built by Dragonfly Development Ltd (the Council's wholly owned company) and handed over to your Labour council to help meet a local need.

Our election pledge was to continue building affordable housing so we could support people in being able to live locally in modern, affordable and efficient council properties that meet a need.

This is exactly what this new development does.

John and Denise Wilson have who have lived in the town all their lives recently moved into one of the new proeprties and they could not be happier.

"We feel like we have won the pools moving into this bunglaow," said Denise. "“I like everything about it, everything. There must have been so much planning behind the scenes to get these gardens and how they have designed it, and all the older people can be on the flat and not miles away from the shops. I can’t thank the Council enough.”
